Registration Fees for season 2015 2016

The Centre fees for season 2015 / 2016 will remain at $135.00 per child (not inclusive of Club fee).

The Coburg policy is that the fourth and subsequent children are free.  As a Centre, we are absorbing the fee imposed by our governing body, Little Athletics Victoria and will pay it on behalf of those children so that the cost of joining for families stays affordable.

Our Clubs charge a small club fee on top of this $135 to cover their own advertising costs, printing, social events, trophies etc...This is in place of the 'subs' that used to be payable on a weekly basis when Little Aths first started in the 60's. Each Club charges different fees depending on their needs. Some of the fees are allocated as listed below (out of the $135 portion):-

NB. As stated above, if you have 4 or more children in your family, we will pay the Little Athletics Victoria portion of $65.00 plus admin fees for your 4th, 5th child etc.  We do NOT charge a Centre portion for those children. However, Clubs may still charge a fee for those children.

The balance from fees is then used to cover the cost of entering Relay teams (now $20 per race) and the running of the centre in general terms. This includes First Aid, purchase or repair of equipment, trophies, medals at Centre Championships, subsidised Centre uniforms, printing & stationery, admin expenses, advertising and training. As a centre we have made a commitment to pay for Wednesday night training sessions with a professional coach and her staff, available to all athletes. As you can see from the expenses listed above, this can only be achieved by our efforts from fundraising and the support of families to our canteen and social events.

As mentioned above, our clubs also set their own fee on top of the centre fee above to cover a variety of things including their own expenses, trophies and presentation nights at the end of the season.  Uniforms are separate and each club will charge their own fee based on the cost of manufacture.

Parents are able to register and pay their child's membership fee on-line at the Little Athletics Victoria website. The fee quoted includes the Centre and Association fees only including admin fees charged by IMG.   Club fees must be paid directly to the club by either direct debit, cash or cheque.

At the end of the summer season, your registration fee also entitles each athlete to participate in Cross Country over the winter season. In the Northern Metropolitan Region, we also ask our athletes to pay a weekly fee of $2 which is used to cover the cost of trophies and morning tea available to children participating in this event.

To keep the cost of membership at a reasonable amount, we ask all families to support our Fund-raising efforts. Each year we have a Trivia Night and various raffles and other activities throughout the season. See more information in the handbook.

Our Coburg All Star Open Day is another favourite in the competition calendar and can only be successful if fully supported by our own members. The entry fee for this event is now included in your fees upon registration at the beginning of the season.

Finally, we are very lucky to have dedicated people who take on the role of managing our Canteen. Without this facility we would have to increase fees immensely as a lot of the profit raised from the canteen is also used to purchase new items of equipment for your use.

Is there a refund policy?  The Track and Field season begins at the end of September or beginning of October and runs through until March/April. Then we have the winter Cross Country season with a different fee structure. We encourage new athletes and their parents to attend for at least one week (often 2) of the summer season to 'try out' before becoming financial members. There is also the opportunity to attend our Orientation Day which is full of useful information. Once an athlete has been processed as a financial member, there is no opportunity for a refund. A portion of the membership fees are sent on to the governing bodies to cover insurance and any other fees applicable. ***This is why a trial period is offered !!!
